Vikas Kohli

Vikas Kohli has been recording for over 14 years and in that tenure, he has produced and engineered across numerous genres: Punk, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Soul, Country, Pop, R&B, Classical, Metal and good ol' fashioned Rock'n'Roll.

As a producer, Vikas' philosophy is very simple: "If you want to record something relevant, then you have to be ahead of the curve." He encourages the artists he works with to home in on and develop their own sound. With over 19 years of songwriting experience, Vikas uses his deep understanding of music to build your unique ideas into compelling works of art. Artists value working closely with a fellow musician and this explains the many smiling pictures scattered around the studio walls.

An active member of the music scene, Vikas seems to know someone everywhere he goes. And he'll use that network to help you get your music out there. He has spoken at events for SAC (The Songwriters Association of Canada), NXNE (North by Northeast), CMW (Canadian Music Week), HMA (Hamilton Music Awards), NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association), Masala!Mehndi!Masti!, TIMA (Toronto Independent Music Awards), Undercurrents, JyaFest Arts Collective, Canada Career Arts, and Tin Pan North; and is a member of SOCAN (Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada), CMRRA (Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency Limited), AVLA (Audio Video Licensing Agency), and CIRAA (Canadian Independent Recording Artists' Association).

After studying fine arts, he obtained an Honours degree in Mathematics and Philosophy, an MBA (Master of Business Administration), and a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst).
